Benefits and usages
What luteolin actually is
Luteolin is a plant flavonoid found in foods such as parsley, thyme, celery, chamomile, oregano, rosemary, artichoke and broccoli. It has been studied extensively for the anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and metabolic benefits it can provide.
In experimental models, luteolin has been shown to influence inflammatory pathways such as NF-kB, cytokine signaling, oxidative stress and microglial activation. It has also been studied in mast-cell biology and neuroinflammation research. That makes it biologically plausible in clinical conditions. Luteolin also helps balance Th1/Th2 and other immune cytokines that can lead to inflammation.
Luteolin provides support for a condition commonly referred to as fatty liver.

The author describes the flavonoid luteolin (not to be confused with lutein, which relates to the eyes) as providing help with a condition known as fatty liver, where fatty deposits in the liver can interfere with blood cleansing and metabolic functions such as detoxification, fat metabolism and weight management.
